I hope you are
enjoying this Sunday series of how to save a quick buck!
We have talked
about websites that can generate income for you. Or at least score you some
great gift cards at the end of the year.
We have discussed
online blogs that help.
Every so often, I
score free magazine subscriptions. It's because I check out those money saving
blogs I mentioned. I have scored about five free magazine subscriptions. Then,
my mother in law, always gets me one or two magazine subscriptions for
Christmas.
Somehow, I end up receiving
about 8-10 magazines in the mail each month. So, after I read them, what do I
do with all these magazines? It seems wasteful to just throw them away.
I take them to
Half Price Books.
Half Price Books
are NOT the best when it comes to selling your books back. You can give them an
entire box and get back $3.00. That kinda feels like a slap in the face to me,
and I don't like pain. So I don't usually take my books there. I do however get
back a pretty good return on my magazines.
If you take back
your magazines during the month that they are current (preferably early in the month),
they will give you a dollar or two back.
Okay, that doesn't
sound like much. Let me do the math for you, though:
8 magazines x
$1.00 each x 12 months = $96.00
Not bad for
magazines that you got for free.
So next time you
finish reading those magazines, don't toss them, go sell them!
Speaking of free stuff, did you enter this giveaway yet? Entering is simple, just pin something from the blog! Good luck!

Ok that is awesome, I didnt know you can sell the magazines! I also get free subscriptions each month of about 6 magazines, love it!
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat! I also get many magazines free each month (some of them I don't even read or want, so they just go in the trash right away). I did a search, but unfortunately there aren't any HPBs anywhere even remotely close to me.
ReplyDeleteIt also really depends on the magazine. It if it something that is pretty popular, you will probably get more money than something obscure that no one buys!
